Plenty of "locksmiths" you'll find online quote one number on the phone and hand you a bill several times larger in the driveway. We started Lunar Locksmith partly because we were tired of watching neighbors get taken. Our quote is our price.
Tell us the make, model, and situation and you'll get a number. If the job turns out to be different from what you described, we tell you before touching the lock.
- The call goes to a call center, not a local shop. Many "Huntsville locksmith" numbers online ring a national dispatch service that sells your job to whoever is nearby. Ask where they are based and who is coming.
- The quote is too good to be true, or there is no quote at all. A $15 to $35 service call almost always balloons on arrival. Just as common: they refuse to give a price on the phone and insist the technician will quote you on site, once you have no easy way to say no.
- You start getting calls from numbers you do not recognize. Once a call center has your information, several people from different phone numbers may call back repeatedly, each pushing hard to lock you in. The confusion is the point. A legitimate company calls you once, from one number.
- They cannot produce an AESBL license. Every Alabama locksmith must be licensed through the Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensure. Ask for the number before you book, and ask to see the technician's AESBL license card when they arrive. Ours is 002134, and our technicians carry it.
- They want to drill first. Most locks can be picked or bypassed without damage. Drilling is a last resort, not an opening move, and it conveniently creates a lock you now have to buy from them.

Isn't a locksmith expensive?
Usually the opposite. A dealership will have you tow the car in, wait days for a key, and charge you for the privilege. We make most keys on site in under an hour, and you never leave your driveway. For lockouts, a professional almost always costs less than a damaged door or window.
How do I know you're legitimate?
Look us up. Lunar Locksmith LLC is licensed through the Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensure, license number 002134, and every technician has passed a federal background check. You'll get a company name and a price when you call, a technician who can show you an AESBL license card when we arrive, and a written invoice when we leave.
Can you make a key if I lost every copy?
Yes, for most vehicles. We cut and program new keys and fobs from the vehicle itself, including transponder and push-to-start keys. Tell us the year, make, and model when you call so we bring the right blank.
What if it's something you don't do?
We'll say so and point you to someone local we trust. We'd rather send you to the right person than sell you the wrong job.
Do you offer any discounts?
We offer an active military discount. Mention it when you call and we'll apply it to the quote.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. Parts and labor carry a 30-day warranty, so you are not paying twice for the same problem.
